kuppi - tile RICE BOWL S

Sale price¥2,750

The hibi "kuppi" series was created by unearthing ancient stamps that had been lying dormant in Arita's Taseigama kiln, changing the stamping method, paint, and texture, and reconstructing them to create a modern design. The completed design is hand-carved by a stamp maker, and the pottery craftsmen hand-press the stamps with rust glaze one by one to create the product. The hand-drawn design is hand-carved and hand-pressed. These three steps of handwork create "variation." hibi considers "variation" that occurs due to nature, people, the characteristics of pottery, and the work to be "good." The glaze is not pure white, but beige, with an expressive texture like a quail's egg. The result is a nostalgic yet new tableware that has the strength and lightness of porcelain and is comparable to pottery.
